As we all know, anilox roller is the “heart” of Carton printing machine, which directly determines the brightness and clarity of printing color. As the market demands more and more exquisite carton printing, carton factories are constantly improving the grade of anilox roller in line with the market demand. However, most carton factories in China have little understanding of anilox roll, and there is still a lack of professional understanding on how to cooperate with plate, ink and other elements. Metal engraving chrome anilox roller

Metal engraving chromium anilox roll, referred to as chromium roll for short, is usually extruded on the soft (usually copper roll) roll surface by metal mold, or sometimes by means of electronic engraving to produce more regular grid points on the roll surface, and then form anilox roll on the chromium surface. Soft metals are used as base rollers for extrusion, while chromium plating is used to enhance hardness and wear resistance.

From 1940s to 1980s, chrome plated rollers were widely used in carton printing. The chrome plated roller in the newly used machine has good ink load and ink transmission performance, regular mesh wall structure and excellent anti blocking performance. However, after 3 to 6 months of use, the mesh wall is very worn and the ink loss is the most. At this time, if the scraper system is used, the ink cannot be scratched. If the rubber roller is scratched off, some users will loosen the rubber roller to produce a layer of “floating ink” on the roller surface, that is, some ink is higher than the grid point, which can achieve enough ink, but this layer of floating ink causes the blocking of the paste version and the decline of printing clarity. It can be seen that the disadvantage of chrome plated roller is not durable and consumes a lot of assembly time.

Another weakness is that the processing technology is difficult to carve more lines, and it is difficult to meet the more detailed layered grid carton printing.

Many users think that chrome plated rollers are cheap and low cost. In fact, the service life of high-quality ceramic roller, saved machine time and stable printing quality are far more cost-effective than high-quality chromium roller. In other words, chrome plated rollers are not actually cheap. This is also the reason why chromium rollers have been replaced by most ceramic rollers.
